Gateway Upgrade South – Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road upgrade
The Department and Transport and Main Roads would like to notify you that their project team will be performing some work on the Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road as part of the Gateway Upgrade South project.
The Australian Government and Queensland Government are jointly funding the Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road upgrade (Broadwater Road to Gardner Road) as Stage 2 of the Gateway Motorway South project.
Widening Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road from four to six lanes will improve access to and from the Gateway Motorway and benefit over 35 000 motorists who use the road daily. Full construction is due to start by early 2014.
If you have not heard about the project details, attached is the latest information that was provided to residents in your area. Alternatively, further contact details have been provided below.
Works will include:
· Site vegetation clearing as part of the initial pre-construction preparation
· Relocation of Telstra, Optus and Energex services to their new alignment next to the resumption boundary to avoid conflict with the road works.
Impact to residents:
Due to the movement of machinery and equipment, residents may experience some noise disturbance.
Timeframe:
The movement will commence week beginning late September 2013, and will conclude early 2014. These activities will be undertaken during normal construction hours of 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday and 7:00am to 2:00pm Saturday. Night work may also be required.
Please note that work is subject to weather and construction conditions.
Every effort will be made to minimise the impacts on the local community and we thank you for your cooperation and patience during these important works.
